The Ending Of A Story.

'You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, you might just find you get what you need.'

Michael Feit Dougan created a creative compass to help him figure out the endings of a story, he thought that there was four main endings to any storyline.

'Triumphant ending' - The character achieves both their want and their need.

'Transcendent ending' - The character only achieves their need, not their want.

'Existential ending' - The character only achieves their want, not their need.

'Tragic ending' - The character gets neither their need nor their want.

These four endings for my own story would be:

Triumphant - He gets his father's fortune and a relationship with Anne.

Transcendent - He doesn't get any of the fortune, but gets the relationship with Anne.

Existential - He takes his father's fortune and leaves Anne behind.

Tragic - He would return to New York without the money or Anne.
