Risk Assessment for Kelvedon Hatch - Secret Nuclear Bunker.

After visiting Kelvedon Hatch again and deciding that it was the location I wanted to use to film in, I filled out another risk assessment, but in more detail this time.

RISK ASSESSMENT FORM

Production Name & Number   - 'Hope Dies Last'.
Production Manager                 - Nicola Sinclair.
Producer                                   - Nicola Sinclair.

Guidance:

1.     Assess whether a hazard will be present, write YES or NO.  Then for each hazard that you have said YES to do the following:
2.     Rate each risk on a Severity scale from Negligable (N), Low risk (L), Moderate risk (M), Severe (S), Very severe (V)
3.     Rate each risks Likelihood on scale from Very unlikely (VU), Unlikely (U), Possible (P), Likely (L), Very likely (VL)
4.     Determine the Risk Factor from the table overleaf.

Kelvedon Hatch - 'Secret Nuclear Bunker.'

P = Present      /           S = Severity     /           L = Likelihood  /           R = Risk Factor

7. Then list each risk identified

Hazard Number:
5 - Confined Spaces.
Description of Hazard:

In a number of places inside the bunker, the corridors and rooms are rather small, and could be easily classified as a confined space.
Person(s) exposed:
Cast/Crew and outside company, mainly, as we should hopefully not have the public in the same room as us when we film.
Action to take:

Make sure that everyone is aware of where things are in the room, and only have the required people in the room at the time. Also, do not rush around the room to make sure no one hurts themselves.
Person/company responsible for action

Nicola Sinclair.
Hazard Number:
6 - Derelict Buildings.
Description of Hazard:

We plan to film in a couple of places that could be considered derelict, however they are not fenced off to the public with safety warnings.
Person(s) exposed:
Cast, crew and outside company.
Action to take:

We will make sure that these locations are safe for us to film in before actually doing anything there. We will remove anything that could be considered a real risk, and make sure that the cast and crew know where is and isn't safe in the location.
Person/company responsible for action
Nicola Sinclair.
Hazard Number:
18 - Public/Crowds.
Description
Because the bunker is open for the public, we may have the issue of some people walking into the set as we're filming, and may possibly hurt themselves on the equipment we are using.
Person(s) exposed:
Cast, crew, outside company and the public.
Action to take:

We will make sure we tape all the wires for the equipment down to the floor to make sure that they don't trip over anything. We will also have a person of the crew or two to stand by and warn the public of what we are doing so they don't wander straight through the middle of the set whilst filming. We also plan to film towards the end of the day, too, when the bunker should be closing to the public.
Person/company responsible for action
Nicola Sinclair.
Hazard Number:
25 - Stunts/Dangerous Activities.
Description
We plan to have a few occasions where someone is hit by gunfire, and therefore falls backwards, which could be classified as a low-risk stunt.
Person(s) exposed:
Cast.
Action to take:

We will make sure that there are mattresses, or something of the sort to protect them as they fall, and explain in detail to them about the risks of the stunt.
Person/company responsible for action
Nicola Sinclair.
Hazard Number:
29 - Weapons.
Description
We plan to have some form of gun on set, or something that looks extremely close to one. We will also have scenes where gunfire is exchanged.
Person(s) exposed:
Cast, crew, outside company and the public.
Action to take:

We will make sure these guns are either decommissioned, or something non-lethal such as airsofting guns. We will also inform the owners and staff of the site about what we are planning to do, as well as have members of the crew around to explain to the public in case they come across us whilst we're filming.
Person/company responsible for action
Nicola Sinclair.

To be completed at agreed later date -

Exposed person(s) informed?

Agreed action taken?

Risk removed?
